Romans 8:38-39

-Vs. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, -Vs. 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

This morning a man in downtown Manhattan, New York killed a former co-worker, and in the malaise between himself and the responding Police Officers, several other innocent bystanders were shot and wounded.

Let’s roll back the tape a few moments earlier. My daughter was on the phone with me as we chatted and prayed about a decision she needed to make concerning a close acquaintance.

Upon finishing our call, she realized she was running late for her usual morning train into downtown Manhattan. However, she had a “knowing” in her spirit to ‘not rush‘, but instead to ‘be at peace’ with the fact that she’d be a little late to work this morning.

As she emerged from the subway station to the street level, she said there was a kind of quiet in the streets and throughout the standstill crowd that she’d not experienced before; it was eerily quiet.

Arriving a few blocks away to her job, she was immediately informed that there had just been a shooting moments ago. Co-workers were glad to see her safe and sound since all knew her arrival would have been inevitable directly through the zone of the shooting. They were amazed that she hadn’t been in the midst of the shooting frenzy; missing the action by mere minutes.

She quickly called me to assure me that she was safe at work. We praised God and asked His peace upon those who will be receiving tragic news or sustaining injury this day.

We wake up, shower, grab coffee (or whatever) and jump into our day, not truly knowing what lies ahead in the next few moments.

As a baseline for our lives: “Are you fully persuaded?”

If yes; then there is no job that you could lose and have you also lose your sound mind. If yes; then there is no passing of a loved one that could have you lose your sound mind and destroy your own life or that of someone else. If yes; then there is no loss in this world system that can ever be an excuse to act against what you know to be true of your Heavenly Father and His word.

Are you truly… FULLY persuaded?

Let’s Pray: “Heavenly Father, we stop this very moment and once again submit ourselves and our trust to You, Lord Jesus.” Amen

Five Smooth Stones

Five Smooth Stones

Prayer, Love, Courage, Humility and Effort. These are the five smooth stones Believer’s in Christ Jesus must hold ready to defeat the giants in their life today. The account of David the shepherd boy defeating the giant Goliath with a stone and a slingshot is legendary. You can read all about it in I Samuel 17: 1-58.

Why did David need five stones? Goliath had four other brothers! Why ‘smooth’ stones? Those stones came from the brook called Kedron. They had been smoothed by the water flowing over them for many years.

Today, we need smooth stones to defeat the giants in our lifetime. Those stones are found in the word of God; polished smooth in our hand as weapon to defeat the enemy of our soul on a day-to-day basis. The victory was in David’s confession of faith to what God could do through him. That’s the same confident confession we can claim today. Read about David and Goliath again and let the word of God polish your stones. Be Blessed

Running To and Fro

With Loving Kindness

Recently, a gentleman asked if I had heard of Tr–s Di–s and mentioned 72 hour weekend “gatherings” networking America and if I was interested. It was basically a recruiting email.  This was my reply to him.

Hi ‘Johnny’ (Not his real name)

After doing an online search of Tr–s Di–s, I must state that in addition to previous (Extensive) experiences with this type of thing, I personally have no interest in these methods. I pretty much stand by the Apostle Paul: “All I know is Christ and Him crucified.” I Cor. 2:2.  My search for an intimate relationship with Christ begins and ends with the Bible. What you or anyone else decides to do is for the Lord to judge.

If I were sitting across my table talking to you, you’d not hear a harsh tone, so I hope these written words do not ring harshly in your spirit-man for they are offered in loving kindness. However, as my dear Texas husband says, “This ain’t my first Rodeo,” (with these types of methods).

Some of the methods I went through beginning in the early 1970’s through the late 80’s while searching for a closer walk with the Lord was: Moorish Americanism,  the Rosicrucian’s, Native American Believer-Groups, New Age Spiritisms, Universalist Groups, Theophostics Gatherings, Emmaus-Walk folks, various Focused Cell Groups, and many others.

So, all this to say: “Been there-Done that” and (for me) nothing is better than your Bible (an edition that you enjoy), perhaps an Amplified or Study Bible close-by; a few well-written commentaries; a Hebrew/Greek Dictionary and a Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance. Add all those things together with a prayerful, reverent heart of loving Praise before the Lord and at least a mustard-grain-dash of Faith and there is NOTHING that the Lord won’t show you through the Holy Spirit.

Thank you for service in ministering to those in prison. For us all, I suggest we use our weekends to feed the poor; drive the sick and shut-in to their appointments; pray for a young couple facing challenges in their marriage; be a friend to a fatherless teen and ask nothing-nothing in return. Let’s take our “covered dish” and contributions to a homeless shelter (I have lived there too) while sharing His word and in this way you will know the closeness of the Lord Jesus as you serve His sheep; then you will grow in your knowledge of Him.  This is our reasonable service. This is Kingdom work. I invite you to read my blog: https://tnlighthouse.wordpress.com.  TN Lighthouse Ministries only comes out three times a week so I don’t become a nuisance to your “inbox.”

You know ‘Johnny’, Jesus spoke in the book of Matthew 24:26 and also see Daniel 12:4~ That in the last days people would run to and fro seeking Him and seeking more and more knowledge (of Him-on their own terms), but He told us “not” to go where they directed; saying “Lo He is in the desert and Lo He is in the inner room.

Bottom-line, that is what I think these types of gatherings. I believe the people involved are probably loving and sincere; I don’t believe the underlying spirit that crafted these methods is of God.

Let’s pray: “Father-God, we ask that the mind of our understanding be enlightened by your Word and that our hearts receive your instructions and directions through your Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of truth. Please lead, guide and direct my Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus and Lord, please lead me too in your care and keeping, in Jesus name we pray. Amen.    Be Blessed     The Lightkeeper

FEAR NOT – Part 2 of 2

12 01 2012

Fear Not ~ The Standard of Christians & Martyrs

“Faith and fear are equal in their dimension: both demand fulfillment.” (See Part I-“Fear Not”)

Let’s begin by momentarily suspending the subjectivity of ‘good and bad’ and flow within a different level:

When we accept and speak thoughts and words; we are in creation-mode just like our Heavenly Father. When we speak Faith-filled words, the power of God given to humankind goes into effect to fulfill those words, since we are made ‘in His image’.

Conversely, fear-filled words of faith are a catalyst for creative power also.  However, it is the power of Satan (the ruler of this world-system) who responds to fulfill fear-based desires. In fact, it is his legal right to do so and Satan is the father of Legalism as well as being the Father of Lies. John 844  The book of Hebrews 11:1 (again) tells us that, “Now faith is” Is what? The substance of things… The dictionary 4 definitions of ‘substance’ as follows:

Faith creates:

SUBSTANCE:
1.That of which a thing consists; physical matter or material: form and substance.
2.A species of matter of definite chemical composition: a chalky substance
3.The subject matter of thought, discourse, study, etc.
4.The actual matter of a thing, as opposed to the appearance or shadow; reality.

So then, faith creates thoughts (subject of direct focus);  thoughts create desire (the focus ofgoals, imagined outcomes, completed expectations); desire ignites action (speaking and doing) and these actions bring results. Note that the subjectivity of ‘good and bad’ is not mentioned here. What we must realize is that creating ‘good or bad’ is left up to the individual through the intentions of our heart. God recuses Himself from interfering with our man-made decisions unless we specifically invite Him into our lives through prayer, repentance and submission.

The Word of God is in the earth. It is eternal (unchanging). We either live in cooperation with His word or we choose to live in opposition to His word. If we do not know His word; the Holy Spirit draws us to God through “A measure of faith given to everyone “; Romans 12:3

In the book of Job (the longest book of the Bible), we see early on in chapter 1, verse 5, that Job had “fearful faith.” When we arrive at chapter 3, verse 25, Job says: “for the thing I greatly feared has come upon me and what I dreaded has happened to me.” It then takes Job 39 more chapters before he ‘knows deep down,’ saying, “…I know that ‘You’ can do all things, and that no thought or purpose of ‘Yours’ can be restrained or thwarted.” Job 42:1 Amplified.  Considering Job’s 39 chapters of misery and questionings; this statement is a perfect example of repentance and (‘deep down knowing’—see part I) most of all, fearless faith in God Almighty.

We can be held captive by fear for years, but that has never been the plan of the Lord for our lives. Let’s see what the Lord says to us about our future: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

How many of us have known about the cause of certain diseases and illnesses, but refuse to start doing or stop doing those things that would deprive a foothold for disease? Exercise, rest, drink more water, eat more green vegetables, consume less salt, fats or sugars, etc.

Trust me; I put my rock down long ago since this is written from a Glass House; but “I press toward the mark for the prize of the High calling of God in Christ JesusPhilippians 3:14. We’re simply doing some 2012 Selah (pause and reflect) to make the point that all disease and illness has a root, a cause, a beginning and it is found in rebellion and out-and-out sin; even generationally as “word curses”, i.e., “you’ll never amount to anything; “you people are all alike;” “you have nothing but bad luck,” etc..

Additionally, we can ‘invite’ unclean spirits into our own lives; attracting them by what we “say” about ourselves or what we ‘believe’ (have faith for) about ourselves. Let’s equip ourselves to say what the Lord says about us and think how He thinks about us as we lift Him up in praise for how He is lovingly kind toward us every moment of every day.

But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” I Corinthians 15:57

By earnestly submitting our thoughts, words and deeds to our Lord and Savior, who always causes us to triumph, we can be assured that 2012 will be our best year yet… “Fear Not!”

Be Blessed

In the Scheme of Things

31 12 2011
I'm Just Sayin'

I'm Just Sayin'

Faith in the Lord Jesus… It is all a matter of choice. That choice is totally our own.

I was reminded of this fact while ministering to someone quite dear to me who wants to believe in everything under the sun: Every theological point of view; every religious practice; every ancient rite or ritual that is back in vogue; just everything.

The odd bit about that is if you’ll fall for anything, you won’t stand for anything. Having reached that certain age where you inevitably begin to “take stock,” they seem dissatisfied with their life.

However, as I struggled to break through decades of new-age-intellectual-spiritualism; I saw what the years of ‘questioning and reasoning‘ have produced: A self-imposed bondage, like a hamster caught on the wheel of ceaseless questions, investigation and more questions.

That very thing is spoken of in the Bible :  II Timothy 3:7                                                                “…ever learning, but never able to acknowledge the truth.” (N.I.V)

Yet, I continue to pray for them, for you and for me. There is a wonderful song by The Williams Brothers that I would love to insert into this post for your listening pleasure; alas, I am still on the WordPress-Learning-Curve (hey, it takes some folks longer–get over it).  So until I learn to do that, simply go to YouTube and enter the song title: “I’m Just A Nobody” by The Williams Brothers (accept no substitutes). The song lyrics describe my ministry efforts perfectly:

“I’m just a nobody,

trying to tell everybody,

about Somebody,

who can save anybody.”

Think about this too: It was NEVER the scholars, never the wise, the rich, the extremely privileged or the ‘top dawgs’ of this world that really “Got” the message of Jesus.

It was usually those at their lowest point; those that mourn (depressed?); those that hunger and thirst after righteousness (sick of the mess in themselves and this world-system); and those that have been given no hope (terminal illness?).

That is why I get excited when I read in the Bible about “when we were dead in our sins, Christ died for us; and also how He (Jesus) came to set the captives free!” Hallelujah, because I was captive; I was orphan; I was without hope and alone in this world and a sinner; but I heard Him whisper my name in the midst of my mess and I’ll never be the same.

Jesus is my source and resource. Jesus is the One I look to and lean upon. He is the One who is merciful enough to allow me to grow in His grace.

I say with the Apostle Paul:

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended, but this one thing I do: Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Phil. 3:13-14

Pick up your Bible today and press in to Him. Proverbs 3:5 tells me to “ Trust in the Lord with all my heart and lean not to my own understanding, but in all my ways acknowledge Him and He will direct my path.”

Folks, it wasn’t until I began to personalize the Scriptures that the Holy Spirit opened the way of the Lord wide to me.

So, “In the scheme of things“, as we look out to a new year upon the horizon, can we afford to stay stuck on our hamster wheels much longer? Don’t mind me,  I’m just sayin’.      Be Blessed
