2 Chronicles 7:12-14

12the Lord appeared to him at night and said:

“I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices.

13“When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

On the occasion of the dedication of the first Temple in Jerusalem, after the offering of many oxen and bulls was accepted by God, with Holy fire consuming them on the altar; God promised Solomon:

If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray, and turn from their wicked ways; then I shall hear from heaven; then I shall heal their land.

A multiple shooting and possible hostage situation at a Sikh Temple in suburban Wisconsin was “Breaking News” today as we prepared our family brunch.

A few burnt eggs and half-cooked hash browns later, we learned that several people have been killed and some wounded; including the responding Police Officer to the scene.

Our humble, sincere prayers are offered to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the families, loved ones and all connected to this horrific situation. We pray for the First Responders, the Physicians and many medical professionals treating the survivors; also for the shocked community and the many officials investigating this tragic, evil act.

We are saddened as well as filled with righteous indignation; pleading: ‘Enough Lord, please help us! Enough of the hate and evil; enough of the divisiveness that pits human being against human being with suspicions due to their color, their religion, their culture or nationality and politically leanings or sexual identity… We say, “Enough, Lord.”

Enough of the ignorance that encourages public figures to make self-serving accusations against innocent people because of race, religion, the circumstances of their birth or the texture of their hair!

Lord God in heaven, we submit ourselves to You and say humbly: Enough, O Lord… we cannot fix it… we pray for You to step in, Father. Just as you shut the mouths of fierce lions set against Your Prophet Daniel because of lies; Father-God, shut the mouths of all those that rage in high places; calling for hate, calling for mistrust, and accusing without a cause. Our land is scorched, are crops fail, we ask Your forgiveness. It is enough Father-God; not another life is worthy of fulfilling this evil quota of intolerance…   Surely, it is enough.”

God‘s Love: Brand New Every Morning

Do not ever give up on God.

HE is good to you and to me, forever. Never give up on God.

You see, HE isn’t like people who may disappoint you; not like folks that may turn against you. No, God is not like that at all… HE is good.

God is good and He is a rewarder of those who DILIGENTLY seek Him. Bless the name of the Lord our God forever. HE cares about us PERSONALLY and INDIVIDUALLY… this day and forever.

This Lightkeeper testifies that the Lord is good and His mercy endures toward each one of us when we stand fast in His word and in His way.

So if folks or situations are treating you badly; don’t lift a finger against them, but turn speedily to our Heavenly Father and cry out to Him in prayer; He will answer you; He will help you; He will turn the tide to your favor; He will send the help you need; He will expose the truth with a mighty hand… O how great is our God?

None can compare to the God of Abraham… HE IS: The God of little-ole-me. Brothers and Sisters, you can trust Him today. Trust him with your reputation; trust Him with your troubles; trust Him with your all in all… Hold nothing back; then wait upon Him as you bless His Holy name. Wait upon Him like a servant in a good restaurant who watches his customer from a reasonable distance and is quickly at their side to fulfill their every request.

Yes, “wait” upon our God, the Holy One of Israel, the Messiah, our Lord and Savior as a good servant: ready and anticipating the call-to-action. Prepare yourself just as a good navigator who studies the maps, the routes and understands the weather forecasts; the shifting of headwinds and turbulence and how to negotiate oncoming storms… Study, to show yourself approved to wear the title: Servant of the Most High God; Child of the King; the Redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb.

God is good and worthy of our time; worthy of our praise; especially since HE created time… especially since He is in the midst of our praise.

If there is any sacrifice at all, it is the sacrifice of not doing things ‘your way’ and to instead, cast your care upon Him, in anticipation of doing things “His way.” You will not be disappointed. You will rejoice and shout along with me! How Great is our God!

Will you spend some of your time in His word today? It is our reasonable service. It is guaranteed: You will be blessed.

The Lightkeeper is available for: Intercessory Prayer; Biblical Counseling; Guest Speaking; Healing Services; Wedding Official (Tennessee) and friendly chats. Be of Good Cheer

Suppose along the way on our journey back to God; a lot of people begin to stop believing in God?

Suppose our journey has been filled with an abundance of: “One-too-many’s?” Perhaps there have been ‘one-too-many’ rude so-called religious-folk; perhaps one-too-many dysfunctional family situations; one-too-many ways to be taken for granted; or betrayed, excluded; criticized; polarized and simply unloved? Then what?

As a Biblical Counselor for a number of  years now, I have yet to have ‘seen-it-all’; especially since I haven’t met someone like the madman of Gadara (“My name is Legion, for we are manyMark 5:1-20)–not someone you would look forward to meeting  randomly, and it’s not very likely that he’d make an appointment with us. [Please know I’m being facetious here]

True, our counseling hasn’t come across such a walking-wounded child of God; however, I do know a very dear young woman who has experienced much of the above list of un-love for much of her life: She drinks.

Another dear person who has come into our ministry with a similar story of having seldom felt loved: He is angry and emotionally cloistered.

Some people shop; some eat; some have sexual marathons; some decide to perpetrate the same unloving behaviors onto others; thereby perpetuating the cycle of evil.

As we can see, it all gets messy and goes downhill rather quickly; however, most people in the clutches of this cycle of unloving, accept the self-inflicting wounds as relief.

Revisit Mark 5:1-20 and note that some very twenty-first century psychosis are being demonstrated: Cutting; terrorizing; bullying; vehement anger, etc. What’s the remedy? What is the antidote, the cure? We invite you to come have a drink.

Drink deeply, ever so deeply, again and again of the word of God. Let’s focus upon the words of our Savior and Friend, our Lord Jesus, the Christ [meaning: anointed One; (and) His anointing].

In fact, from now on, may we humbly suggest that every time you see the title, “Christ”, that you think: Anointed One (and) His anointing. In regular terms, it’s like saying: “The All-Powerful/All-Able One and His All-Powerful potential toward you and me.” Jesus’ antidote for the evils of this world-system is highlighted in John 16:33b (NKJV) “…Be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

However, understand that the next time you hear this Scripture quoted; it is a concluding portion of a much larger statement. This is a statement delivered (in fact) to Believer’s and not to unbeliever’s, who have a whole ‘other’ issue; just as a High School Senior has whole ‘other’ issues differing from a drop-out.

So then, Jesus’ concluding statement: “..Be of good cheer, I have overcome the world,” is like the dessert within a full-course meal. However, the main course precedes dessert, as when He said:  33  “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Note: “In the world you will have tribulation…” (i.e., sorrow, trials, challenges, persecutions and/or grief). Primary to Jesus’ statement is His open, and non-expiring invitation and statement of fact: “…in Me you may have peace.” The qualifier  ‘may’ shows that we have a choice, a decision; so indeed this is part of an invitation and not a dictation.

We shine the Light on this fact: We can choose Jesus and turn our back on the un-loving sorrows, trials, persecutions, and challenges of this world-system. We can rest in the knowledge that Jesus knows all about it (first-hand); we are not alone in the world; we are not abandoned, orphaned or without hope.

So too, we can choose to realize, count upon; lean into and rest ourselves in knowing that even the crass chaos of our life, here on planet earth has not escaped the nail-scarred hands of our Lord and Savior; The Christ.

BUT: We’ve got to stop self-managing and simply submit ourselves to Him; give ‘it‘ to Him. That is easier said then done, right? Perhaps things are only as hard as we make them? Please review the fact that the first thing ‘Legion’ does in Mark 5, verse 6: “When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and worshipped Him.”

Exercise: For 7 days, stop recalling “the problem” and focus upon the solution. Jesus is the solution for every problem. See Him in your heart through the word of God, right there in your Holy Bible. Run to Him in your heart; fall upon your knee’s literally and spiritually… worship Him.

This is our first step as Believer’s [not denominationalism, not religious, but believer’s] in the One true, Triune God; the “I AM”; Who is our answer to all of life’s many questions; which  are always found, “under-the-Son,” in Christ.

Homework~For a good time, read: John 16 (all) and Mark 5 (all) then please share with us how the exercise suggested above has made a difference in your life.

Be Blessed!

Jesus & Hypocrites

The Mask

Masks of the Hypocrite

Hypocrite: From the Latin hupocrit s, meaning, to play-act or pretend; one who acts, or pretends to have certain beliefs, attitudes or feelings, but actually lives in contradiction to his/her stated beliefs. Some synonyms for hypocrite would be one who is a “dissembler”; which is a person who espouses (to champion, or advocate) divisions among a group while maintaining the very actions he/she is telling others ‘not’ to do; to be inauthentic; and in Christianity, to be an un-believer.

In the book of Luke 12:33-53, our Lord Jesus teaches us how to prevent becoming a hypocrite. HE begins by telling us to shed ourselves of honoring stuff above honoring God. He then goes on to give us practical advice on how to utilize the profits from selling off the ‘stuff’…By helping the poor; thereby helping our own soul become prepared to be an authentic child of God…clearing our decks to be filled with blessings of God.

Some of us have watched television programs about hoarding and hoarders. Jesus knew that this was a miserable life: To hold on to ‘things’; which is simply an outer indication of an inner struggle to hold on to debilitating, detrimental beliefs… hypocrite.

In ancient theatres the actors used to wear masks to project to the audience the feelings of the character being played; i.e., the villain, the hero, the beauty, etc.

Nowadays, we join groups, clubs and sadly, even certain churches to wear our masks and play our parts convincingly. We disassemble (kick out) anyone who doesn’t play their part the way it needs to fit within the ‘group.’

Getting disassembled (kicked-out) was perfectly alright with our Lord Jesus; you see the hypocrites kicked Him out too; so we are in good company. In fact, He said over and over throughout the New Testament that He didn’t come to bring peace, but a sword and to set folks at opposition with one another. There are no bystanders; we must decide.

Jesus is the righteous Judge. At this point in history, we are being selected for jury duty: Set aside for the Master’s use. Trust me, when HE selects you; you probably won’t be popular any longer. If anyone out there understands what that is like; tell us your story.

In the meantime, read what Jesus told His Disciples (the disciplined ones) regarding this very topic in the books of: Matthew 10:34-36-42; John 7:43 as well as John 9:16; and Mark 13:12-13.

Just for fun: What if our Lord sang this song to all of us when the Hypocrites have kicked us out: http://youtu.be/TVFN4uHKR5Q?t=10s  the very fabulous voice of Astrud Gilberto; “Call Me” -Enjoy the lyrics.

Paradox of Anguish

What is “UP” with all the turmoil, stress, suicide and melt-downs we see spilling from so many people in America and all over the world? Does the Bible say anything about it?

“If my people, who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray; and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land.”    II Chronicles 7:14

I taught on this a while ago regarding covenant contracts. Often (sadly), Believer’s do NOT meet the conditions the Lord God sets for us to meet: Humility; Prayer; Seek Him; and Repentance. These are covenant-conditions and there are many others throughout the Word.  Similar to any other covenant (or contract); each party must be willing to “do their part.” We often make things a lot tougher than they need to be. Just like any other good parent that must hold back rewards from disobedient children; I believe the Lord weeps over us, like He did over Jerusalem who blocked their own blessings from Messiah.–we make things so hard on ourselves.

Prayer: “Lord, you only are God and your plans are good. Help us to “act” upon your word; realizing it is not how we ‘see‘ things, but it is what yousay.’ We ask for your blessing of direction upon our heart and mind, submitting fully in loving trust to you; even though we can’t always “see” what it all means or comprehend, where it’s all is going.” We ask this in your precious name Lord Jesus. Amen†

Be Blessed!

The God Who Heals Me

6 02 2012

Jesus Heals

Just  talked to a Dear-one who is “going through it;” I mean the ‘hit-youwith-the-Kitchen-Sink’ kind of ‘going through it.’

In the scheme of things, a broken bone would be a cleaner type of hurt: This is emotional. Prayer Warriors Unite, so that this Child of God does not become prime rib on Satan’s menu. My view on this subject was stated back in February. Here is a replay:

So often I counsel Believer’s that ask for prayer regarding one ailment or another. As I listen, I am concerned about the lengthy and detailed descriptions of their ailments and what the doctor had to say. Sometimes, I find that I must interrupt in order to get a “prayer in edgewise.”

What if we were just as familiar with what the Word of God said as we are with what the Pharmacist, the Internist or the Specialist had to say? Please don’t misunderstand. I realize the all-consuming nature of sickness. As a teenager I watched my own dear Mother succumb to the fierce ravages of Chronic Leukemia; while she stayed faithful to the Lord right up until her passing at only forty-six years of age.

In addition to the Lord’s call upon my life to Ministry; I also recall the desperate feelings of wanting to “DO” something to stop Mom’s pain; stop the wasting away of her body, strength and life. From that time until this, I have searched out the Scriptures and looked to the Lord for His healing. Our family was part of a denomination which taught that miracles and healings were ‘passed away’… Gone with the last Apostle. We were to simply look forward to ‘making heaven our home–in the sweet by-and-by.’ But I had read in the Bible that: “…heaven and earth shall pass away, but My word shall not pass away.”

Whom shall we believe? I’ll tell you whom I believe:  Our God is a ‘consuming fire [Hebrews 12:28-29]; mighty in battle [Psalm 24:8]; has overcome the enemy; the last enemy to be defeated is only Death itself; which will flee at His coming. You see, our God is Spirit and those that would worship Him, must worship Him in spirit (our own) and in truth (only His word is truth). John 4:24

So Beloved, get your Bibles out and open them. Read and consume; feast upon the Living Word. It is only through His word and the gift of His Holy Spirit (the very Spirit of Truth) that we have any chance; any chance whatsoever against the ancient enemy of our souls; whether it be physical, mental, emotional or relational in this world-system.

Jesus told us to “Be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world.” John 16:33   Additionally, let’s start by cracking open our Bible for ourselves in order to find out what are some of the many, many benefits we can stand solidly upon for our wholeness. Let us concentrate ourselves fully to “These things” and place all others in their proper place… as we: Take the medicine prescribed; continue our treatments; and all other prescribed and recommended therapies. Let’s be proactive as we “fight the GOOD fight of faith.”

Focus readings:

  • John 17:12-19 (Whole Chapter) Jesus prays for us all to know that God’s Word is truth.
  • Exodus 15:26 and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.” Exodus 15:25-27 (in Context) Exodus 15 (Whole Chapter)
  • Psalm 103:3 Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Psalm 103:2-4 (in Context) Psalm 103 (Whole Chapter)
  • Psalm 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:2-4 (in Context) Psalm 147 (Whole Chapter)

Until next time… Be Blessed!

FEAR NOT – Part 2 of 2

12 01 2012

Fear Not ~ The Standard of Christians & Martyrs

“Faith and fear are equal in their dimension: both demand fulfillment.” (See Part I-“Fear Not”)

Let’s begin by momentarily suspending the subjectivity of ‘good and bad’ and flow within a different level:

When we accept and speak thoughts and words; we are in creation-mode just like our Heavenly Father. When we speak Faith-filled words, the power of God given to humankind goes into effect to fulfill those words, since we are made ‘in His image’.

Conversely, fear-filled words of faith are a catalyst for creative power also.  However, it is the power of Satan (the ruler of this world-system) who responds to fulfill fear-based desires. In fact, it is his legal right to do so and Satan is the father of Legalism as well as being the Father of Lies. John 844  The book of Hebrews 11:1 (again) tells us that, “Now faith is” Is what? The substance of things… The dictionary 4 definitions of ‘substance’ as follows:

Faith creates:

1.That of which a thing consists; physical matter or material: form and substance.
2.A species of matter of definite chemical composition: a chalky substance
3.The subject matter of thought, discourse, study, etc.
4.The actual matter of a thing, as opposed to the appearance or shadow; reality.

So then, faith creates thoughts (subject of direct focus);  thoughts create desire (the focus ofgoals, imagined outcomes, completed expectations); desire ignites action (speaking and doing) and these actions bring results. Note that the subjectivity of ‘good and bad’ is not mentioned here. What we must realize is that creating ‘good or bad’ is left up to the individual through the intentions of our heart. God recuses Himself from interfering with our man-made decisions unless we specifically invite Him into our lives through prayer, repentance and submission.

The Word of God is in the earth. It is eternal (unchanging). We either live in cooperation with His word or we choose to live in opposition to His word. If we do not know His word; the Holy Spirit draws us to God through “A measure of faith given to everyone “; Romans 12:3

In the book of Job (the longest book of the Bible), we see early on in chapter 1, verse 5, that Job had “fearful faith.” When we arrive at chapter 3, verse 25, Job says: “for the thing I greatly feared has come upon me and what I dreaded has happened to me.” It then takes Job 39 more chapters before he ‘knows deep down,’ saying, “…I know that ‘You’ can do all things, and that no thought or purpose of ‘Yours’ can be restrained or thwarted.” Job 42:1 Amplified.  Considering Job’s 39 chapters of misery and questionings; this statement is a perfect example of repentance and (‘deep down knowing’—see part I) most of all, fearless faith in God Almighty.

We can be held captive by fear for years, but that has never been the plan of the Lord for our lives. Let’s see what the Lord says to us about our future: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

How many of us have known about the cause of certain diseases and illnesses, but refuse to start doing or stop doing those things that would deprive a foothold for disease? Exercise, rest, drink more water, eat more green vegetables, consume less salt, fats or sugars, etc.

Trust me; I put my rock down long ago since this is written from a Glass House; but “I press toward the mark for the prize of the High calling of God in Christ JesusPhilippians 3:14. We’re simply doing some 2012 Selah (pause and reflect) to make the point that all disease and illness has a root, a cause, a beginning and it is found in rebellion and out-and-out sin; even generationally as “word curses”, i.e., “you’ll never amount to anything; “you people are all alike;” “you have nothing but bad luck,” etc..

Additionally, we can ‘invite’ unclean spirits into our own lives; attracting them by what we “say” about ourselves or what we ‘believe’ (have faith for) about ourselves. Let’s equip ourselves to say what the Lord says about us and think how He thinks about us as we lift Him up in praise for how He is lovingly kind toward us every moment of every day.

But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” I Corinthians 15:57

By earnestly submitting our thoughts, words and deeds to our Lord and Savior, who always causes us to triumph, we can be assured that 2012 will be our best year yet… “Fear Not!”

Be Blessed
