Under the sun

That which has been is what will be,
That which is done is what will be done,
And there is nothing new under the sun.  King Solomon~ Ecclesiastes 1:9 NIV

Ever get the creepy-crawly feeling that you’ve experienced something before that is happening in your ‘now’? Ever notice repetitive cycles that are strangely familiar? No matter… In the meantime, The Lightkeeper asks your indulgence as we take a ‘Flight of Fancy’ and stretch our imaginations for what we hope is an insightful interview:

Mount Nemrut Turkey

King Antiochus I excavation – Turkey

“It’s the women first…

It’s always the women… first.

Ask Eve.

You see, once all of the females are under tight control, it’s just easy pickings from then on.

O granted that along the way certain foundational divisions must be established, such as:

‘Us –vs. – Them’; ‘The Haves –vs. – The Have Not’s;’ etc.

Anyway… it’s all just so easy, so basic. That’s the diabolical beauty of it all actually.”

‘It’ laughed.

‘It’ crossed Its’ leg casually.

‘It’ reminded me, once again, that as a spirit-being it had no image. I was only seeing an image that I could be comfortable with.

“Um hmm,” I replied, uncomfortable in this being’s presence, but determined to complete the interview. “Could you go over the ahh…?”

“…The Grand Scheme of Things?” It interjected, helpfully as I nodded.

“Well, there’s pretty much the same formula and basic building blocks for every era of time.” It replied, warming to the subject.

“There was that very first group; and then the flood, you know. After that Egypt rose up quite nicely, but then the whole Red Sea incident.” It seemed to stare out beyond for a moment, and then chuckled, “Always a watery response for a while back then.” It said, amused and continued.

Ah yes, there were strategic aggressions in the Third Atmospheric Chambers that involved me and many key members of my group for long periods of what you’d call ‘time.’ However, when we refocused our efforts, we pinpointed a German wall paper hanger who was an apt pupil and likely candidate for some work we wished to accomplish. His name was Adolf-something.” It concluded smugly.

“Are you getting all of this down?” It asked mildly with concern as I scribbled furiously.

“Do you mean…?” I asked, amazed.

Yes, yes… I see you are familiar with the legacy of his work; actually, my work!” It said with pride.

“Don’t look so amazed, the Roman Emperor Caligula was far superior to that little wallpaper hanger!” It laughed, waving a dismissive hand.

“But to summarize … Always the basics, my dear: Control the most influential among your kind like the women; then the richest; the selfish; and the power-hungry. Divide against obvious markings and physical characteristics, like skin color; divide against philosophies and thinking; then divide against assets; like money, water and food; and there you have it!” It smiled.

“By the way, this is a huge juggling act that I’ve been Ring Master of for many eras. I’m glad you took time to research out how the operation works.” He concluded.

I knew this signaled the close of our discussion; however, I needed one more question answered.

“One thing more,” I declared, gaining Its attention.

“If you know I will be writing this article and many humans will read it…?” I trailed off.

“O, ‘why expose my diabolical plot’?” It seemed to smile toward me as It began to fade from view.

“Because my Dear, you humans were designed to “walk by faith and not by sight,” but so many of you will not believe this, and that works out just fine… for me.” It, was gone.

And the Horse Died?

26 10 2012

‘And the horse…what?”

One of my ‘crazy’ Uncle’s used to tell an old silly story that he grew up in a town that was so poor that it was…

“A One-Horse town… and the Horse died.”

Horses have been utilized over time to denote humanity’s wealth, strength, abundance, mobility and ability. Isaiah warns us not to rely on the help and seeming strength of anything other than the Lord. Let’s visit the word and we look forward to hearing what you think about this passage.

Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help,
    who rely on horses,
who trust in the multitude of their chariots
and in the great strength of their horsemen,
but do not look to the Holy One of Israel,
or seek help from the Lord.

Isaiah 31:1 New International Version

At the time of Isaiah’s writing, Egypt was one of the largest and most organized governments known to humanity; therefore the use of their name calls up an image of a high standard to represent man-made governance. Additionally, “horses, chariots and horsemen” are also representative of  well-established military strength.

However, even Egypt had experienced defeats from lesser armies and had sometimes not followed through on pledges to support allied governments during times of war.

Therefore, the Prophet Isaiah is telling us that as the human spirit can be unstable, we need to make the Lord God  our “North Point” on our compass of life. Today, we’d say that the Lord Jesus is our “Default Screen;” so that no matter how many times we are turned on or turned off and even if our systems ‘crash,’ we can know we have a Savior we can trust in and rely upon… The Lord Jesus needs to be our “Start-up as well as our Back-up” plan.

Let us believe along with the Psalmist:

My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.   ~ Psalms 121:2 New International Version

Be Blessed!

Just Keep Climbing

Still Climbing

14 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.

2 In My Father’s house are many mansions;[a] if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.[b]

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself;                           that where I am, there you may be also.                                          John 14: 1-4  NKJV

Perhaps, it was due to another birthday sliding by me this month that your humble Lightkeeper began reviewing the past as in: Should’a, Could’a, Would’a... with quite a few: “If only…” thrown in for good measure. There was no Deep-Down Funk; just occasional flashes of crucial crossroads from the past that made me go… ‘Oooch.’

After sharing this situation with my ‘Dear One,’ he gave me his very best pep talk (The “Dutch Uncle” speech) and I agreed; deciding to throw away that kind of thinking along with our morning toast edges. However, it seems the Holy Spirit had a ‘word’ for me too [Thank God]:

“…(if) you believe in God… Believe also in Me …”

Let’s slow our train (of thought) down a bit and take a moment to put our hearts’ focus upon what our Lord Jesus is saying to us. What I came away with is that “HE” has always been right there… Loving us, every step of the way; even in our mis-steps; trials and errors.

Our lives can ‘turn on a dime.’ We see headlines from across the globe that are about real people doing marvelous and or tragic things in their lives; moment by moment. It’s nice to know, as a Believer, that through the highs and the lows, we can hook our rope into the rock of Jesus the Christ, by faith. Whether in this life or eternity… [If] we Believe in Him also… We Win! Why? Because He loves us so much. Cling to that truth, no matter what mountain you are climbing now or have climbed in the past.

So… No regrets. We live, love and grow to climb higher in our loving faith through knowing a loving Lord. Until next time and as always, Be Blessed!

Bless the Lord O My Soul

16 10 2012
Bless the Lord !

Bless the Lord !

O Lord You are my God

I will exalt You,

I will praise You name,

For You have done wonderful things;

Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

For You have made a city a ruin,

A fortified city a ruin,

A palace of foreigners to be a city no more;

It will never be rebuilt,

Therefore the strong people will glorify You;

The city of the terrible nations will fear You.

For You have been a strength to the poor,

A strength to the needy in his distress,

A refuge from the storm,

A shade from the heat;

For the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against a wall.      Isaiah 25: 1-5     NKJV

The Lord God allowed His servant, the Prophet Isaiah to see in progression, a view to the ‘End of the age’ with it’s destructions and disobedience of humanity in addition to the mighty hand of God’s wrath in response.

Even in the midst of overwhelming visions of things to come, Isaiah knows that God Almighty still makes a refuge for those who love and reverentially fear Him.

I believe this declaration of loving, worshipful praise broke free from the heart of Isaiah just as it did to his predecessor, King David within Psalm 103 (ref. verse 1).

How can we not ‘Bless the Lord’ from the bottom of hearts, from the depths of our soul?

Let us: Magnify the Lord, exalt His name. Our God sits high and looks low, blessing those who love Him with their whole heart. If you don’t know the Lord, you can stop right where you are and ask Him into your heart today.

Let’s Pray:  “Lord Jesus, I ask Your forgiveness. Only You can forgive my sin. I believe you died on the cross for me. Please come into my heart today.” Amen

If you prayed that prayer today, please contact us through the comment line.

Always to Pray and Not Faint

9 10 2012

Dear Reader: Comfort those who are fearful of things coming into the world today. There is a tendancy toward self protection; which is only natural… right?

Let’s visit the book of I Chronicles and see how ‘narrowly calculating’ for self protection, instead of wide-armed worship of God‘s protection got King David into big trouble:

“And Joab answered, “The Lord makes His people an hundred times so many more as they be: But my Lord King, are they not all your servants? Why then does my King require this thing?” I Chron.21:3  & II Samuel 24:3

Reference: I Chronicles 21:-All and II Samuel 24:-All

King David was taking a census. He wanted to know who and how many he could ‘count on’ if Israel was invaded by outlying threats of war and destruction.

How many times have we too counted our money, counted our friends -the ones who could help if there was ever a time of need; satisfied ourselves with the number of goods in supply… just in case? We don’t relax. Often we inwardly await the next problem and tighten our grip on life. Sadly, we teach our loved ones to do the same. We are truly blessed if we have a friend like Joab, who warns us to…                 “knock it off!”

We are doubly blessed in the wisdom of God if we act on the advice. Let’s look inside our heart. Is that what is really going on? Are we ‘calculating‘ for self protection and leading our loved ones to do the same?

How about we open our minds wide in knowledge of God’s word? Let us open our hearts wide in prayer; open our arms wide in gratitude for our Lord and Saviour Jesus; truly our best friend, who teaches us: Always to pray and not faint.”see Luke 18:1

Until next time and as always… Be Blessed!
